ENG 111 - College Rhetoric
Should you, dear reader, frequent this space with any regularity, you no doubt have noticed some changes. Recent entries have been little more than packets of information with little to no explanation. Recent pages have followed through on their "coming soon" promises. In some ways, then, this space resembles the earlier drafts of my scholarly submissions, i.e., heavy on content and lighter on context. Of course, there's more to come, but I do want to offer a more general explanation for just what's happening here. If it isn't exactly clear, it should be soon.
Put simply, I'm putting together materials for my upcoming four-year review. I expect some readers already know this or at least had inklings, so I guess this explanation is for those who didn't or don't. My reasons for doing this online as well as allowing public access are almost too many to list right now. In the interest of keeping this entry short (mainly so I can get back to scanning and uploading), let's just say my reasons have to do with the nature of my field, public intellectualism, and RateMyProfessors.com.
That written, I encourage all past and present students, colleagues, and peers to peruse and provide feedback. I welcome comments on content, design, grammar, layout, organization, presentation, and syntax. I'm not fishing for compliments here, but that's not to say I'll throw them back should any jump in my boat. So, again, have a look around and let me know if you need anything.
